Dover Rockport
District
Dover Award
The Dover Award is presented annually to
the outstanding Cub Scout Pack in the
Dover Rockport District for the previous
calendar year.
The selection is based
upon every aspect of a pack's performance.
The pack's program and its effectiveness are
reviewed. Criteria include the number of
rank advancement, Tiger Cub program, (pack
overnighters, Day Camp and long-term-over
night resident camping for Webelos, service
projects, activities participation, and
Quality Unit or Centennial Award status. The
pack's leadership is also reviewed. Criteria
include strong pack leadership (den leaders,
separate activities leaders and Pack
Committee), training of adult leaders,
active adult and youth membership growth,
and on-time re-chartering. Lastly,
consideration is given to participation at
our District's activities (such as Kick-off
meeting, District Dinner, leadership
recognition, Roundtable attendance, fund
raising, Camporees, and FOS).
Each year the selection
process for the Dover Award can be a
difficult one. All of our packs have
dedicated leaders committed to the Aim and
Methods of Scouting and many fine leaders
create many strong programs. The following
