The financial support is generally given by a group of Scouters and / or Scouts to honor one of their own for outstanding service and achievement. The recipient is usually unaware that they are receiving the award until it is presented to them. Registered Scouters or youth members who are honored receive and wear the James E. West Fellowship square knot and receive special invitations to local Council and National James E. West Fellowship events, special publications and a plaque from their local Council.

Our District hopes that the Award of a membership in the James E. West Fellowship will become an annual occasion to recognize significant achievement in the Dover Rockport District and the greater Cleveland Council.
